Mark Ritchie, Managing Director / Principal Consultant
Mark is the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at Workplace Wizards. He is highly experienced and expert at managing a range of employee and industrial relations matters. He has advised Australian businesses for over 10 years, and has worked with a large stable of major national and international brands.
Mark has multi-disciplinary capabilities and is actively involved with client projects from the initial strategy stage through to final implementation. He is legally trained, having attained a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Master of Laws (Workplace Relations).
Prior to founding Workplace Wizards, Mark worked as the Principal Workplace Relations Consultant at Victoria’s largest employer association as well as in-house at leading national and international law companies. He is passionate about extracting the infinite possibilities out of leaders and staff as well as resolving those people matters that restrict peak performance.
Mark is a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Victoria (having previously been one of its executive committee members). He is also a member of the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, and the Williamstown CYMS football club. He has appeared regularly as a guest university lecturer and in the media commenting on current workplace relations issues affecting business.
Susanna Ritchie, Director
Susanna is a Director at Workplace Wizards. In addition to working directly alongside Mark to define the strategic direction of the business, she works at the heart of Workplace Wizards ensuring it is well-managed and well-positioned for success.
Susanna is unwavering in her enthusiasm for developing positive relationships and delivering fit-for-purpose services to clients at all times.
Susanna has over a decade of experience in providing advice, training and support to clients in both private and government practice as well as conducting litigation in courts and tribunals. She has senior management experience as a leader of a team of about 50 employees. She serves on the board of Amnesty International Australia and has been an active member of the organisation for many years.
Susanna holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Arts. She has completed the LEADR Mediation Training Course. She loves singing and getting out to enjoy the lovely seaside location that is Williamstown.
Peter Cavanagh, Senior Consultant
Peter has over two decades of experience in advising Australian businesses and governments as a lawyer and consultant. He is highly experienced and expert at managing a range of employee and industrial relations matters including large scale litigation, regulatory compliance and strategic policy. He has acted on behalf of multi-national corporations and large government departments as well as a range of small to medium sized businesses over the years.
Peter is a trained mediator and has assisted clients to resolve a range of disputes using alternative dispute resolution. He has also been involved in a number of legal test cases that have challenged the laws, and achieved excellent results for clients.
Prior to joining Workplace Wizards, Peter worked in a mid-large tier firm and then in his own business. Peter concurrently works as the Supervising Co-ordinator of 68 volunteer lawyers, law students and social work students who provide legal advice and referral services to clients of the Mental Health Legal Centre in Victoria.
Nathaniel Ganeson, Consultant
Nathaniel is devoted to ensuring his clients receive clear, concise and practical advice.
He holds a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University and a Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Melbourne. Throughout his Juris Doctor, he focussed on employee relations, and workplace investigations/misconduct, achieving high marks in both. He is currently completing his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice to enable him to be admitted as a lawyer.
Nathaniel regularly assists clients with a wide range of workplace and industrial relation matters. He is passionate about the ever-changing nature of employment law and providing innovative solutions.
In his spare time, Nathaniel enjoys being outdoors, trail running, hiking in the Victorian countryside and playing soccer. He has a keen interest in history, particularly the French Revolution and its impact modern European society.
Katie Brooks, Consultant Coordinator
Katie is the Consultant Coordinator at Workplace Wizards. Katie has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. She has recently returned to the workforce after taking time to raise her three small children.
Katie has most recently worked as the Executive Assistant to a Partner, Director and team at a global top tier accounting firm, and managed the Executive Assistant team.
Katie has also previous worked for a mid-large tier law firm supporting the Head of Department, various Partners and Associates.
She loves to spend time with family and friends, playing netball and supporting her favourite AFL team.
