Michael is highly client-focused and is dedicated to exceeding his client’s expectations and achieving positive results for them. Michael does this through providing efficient, pragmatic and cost-effective assistance to workplace problems.
Prior to joining Workplace Wizards (and our associated law firm Launch Legal) in early 2018, Michael worked in criminal and family law where he gained valuable litigation and negotiation experience. It was through assisting and advising on criminal matters that Michael ‘got a taste’ for OHS prosecutions and an interest in OHS and, more broadly, workplace relations law. Michael supplemented this experience through volunteering his time and skills at several Community Legal Centres in 2015-17, providing invaluable advice and guidance to those who could not afford private legal advice.
Michael has developed significant experience in a wide variety of workplace and industrial relations matters, including Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, instructing in dismissal-related hearings in the Fair Work Commission, re-drafting OHS management systems and documentation and advising managers on dismissal and performance management strategies.
Michael graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) to complement his Bachelor of Arts (Monash University). He was admitted to the legal profession in 2015. Michael is an avid sports fan who often spends his weekends playing football for the Whitefriars Old Collegians Football Club or wandering Melbourne’s numerous golf courses.
